School Selection Criteria - 2008

For inclusion in the project, 2008 participating schools responded to the following selection criteria:

1. For round three of The Sustainables Challenge project, participating schools must be from metropolitan Melbourne, the City of Greater Geelong or the Surf Coast Shire.
2. The Principal, senior staff and school council must be fully supportive of the project.
3. Willingness to involve the whole school community, particularly the students, in planning and implementing the project.
4. A team of people in the school committed to the project.
5. The Principal is willing to sign an Agreement with the following expectations:
• Designate a contact person from the school for the project;
• Agree for the Level Coordinator and associated staff to participate fully in the project;
• Commit one staff member to attend  the Professional Development session; 
• Commit the school to utilising the units of work in Terms 2 or 3, 2008;
• Complete reports on the status of the school and students at the start of the project and at the completion of the project;
• Cooperate with the project staff assigned to the school and the Project Manager in all facets of the project;
• Participate and/or co-operate in the evaluation of the project.
