Achieving Performance and Development Culture Accreditation
Let Gould League help you become a Victorian DE&T Performance and Development Culture accredited school with Schoolgrounds for Learning!
The Victorian Department of Education and Training’s (DE&T) objective is for all Government schools to be accredited as Flagship Strategy 4: Performance and Development Culture (P&D Culture) schools by 2008 and to invite non-government schools to join this improvement journey.
Schoolgrounds for Learning enables schools to reach Level Four Accreditation level in Elements 3 and 4, and further enhances belief by teachers that the school has a performance and development culture – Element 5.
Level Four Accreditation requirements:
Element 3 |
- aligning teacher professional development to school priorities and improved student learning
|
Element 4: |
- focusing PD at both group and individual level, teachers are given the training, support and activities required to run whole-school professional development
|
- linking PD activities and school priorities
|
- linking PD activities and individual development needs for some teachers
|
Level Five Accreditation requirements
Element 4: |
- demonstrating skill or knowledge transfer into the classroom and positive impact on students
|
- linking PD to career and succession planning and teacher’s future aspirations
|
- ensuring that the PD program reflects all of the Principles of Highly Effective Professional Learning

Teacher P&D Culture Benefits
The six-month Schoolgrounds for Learning course guides and supports teachers to:
- lead teams of teachers, share the workload and their experience
- share ownership through community consultation and decision-making
- continuously improve through evaluation, reflection and modification
- build sustainability through a model of distributed leadership
