ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Services

Our experienced team can deliver, and verify, the ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic Core, Waste, Water, Energy and Biodiversity Modules for your school!

We offer flexible delivery models to suit your school. We can work with individual schools, clusters, networks, student classes/buddies/teams, teachers and/or parents. Some schools like to book one or two sessions, others schools may prefer to book the whole module - it's up to you!

Sustainability Professional Learning

Teacher professional development. This fun, interactive session will get the team on-board and up-to-speed for your ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic journey.

  • Half day at our Environmental Sustainability Education Centre, Moorabbin
  • Tailored sessions at your school or centre (metro Melbourne) (1+ hours)

Student Audit & Assessment

Students compostingThe ultimate student-centred, inquiry-based session. Your students will learn what to look for, appropriate terminology , and how to investigate and record their findings - skills they can keep applying.

Includes: experienced facilitator to guide students (3 hours) and post-visit resources and templates to implement changes. Meets SETS, ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic, VELS, PoLT and National Curriculum outcomes.

Venues & Times:

  • Half day at our Environmental Sustainability Education Centre, Moorabbin
  • Half day at your school or centre (metro Melbourne)

Student Action-planning

Students discussing planThe ultimate student-centred, inquiry-based session - let them take the information, learn and practice prioritisation skills, and make decisions.

Topics: Core/General Sustainability (Core), Water, Waste, Energy and Biodiversity.

Includes: resources, templates, experienced facilitator to guide students (3 hours) and post-visit resources to implement change. Meets SETS, ResourceSmart AuSSI Vic, VELS, PoLT and National Curriculum outcomes.

SETS 'for Dummies'

We'll help you set up the system, make understanding the data entry easy, and show you how you can use the information back at school. Suitable for SSOs, teachers, parents and upper level students (Grade 4 upwards) who need a hand.

  • Half day at our Environmental Sustainability Education Centre, Moorabbin
  • Half day at your school or centre (metro Melbourne)

SETS for Students

A version of SETS 'for Dummies' completely tailored for students from Year 4 upwards. Empower your students to track bills, enter information, understand and track your progress, and report back to the school on your achievements.

Venues & Times:

  • Half day at our Environmental Sustainability Education Centre, Moorabbin
  • Half day at your school or centre (metro Melbourne)

Intensive Support Visit

Need a bit of help getting started or finding yourself bogged down in one area? Our experienced facilitators will undertake an intensive session to work through a 'sticky area'. This visit may include a gap analysis, prioritisation and task/timeline development or other interactive session to best address your particular 'sticky area'. Common 'sticky areas' include: understanding and entering data into SETS, strategic and effective action planning, developing simple systems for recording changes and outcomes (for example in section B: Learning and Teacing or C: Whole School Engagement).

Includes:

  • pre-visit consultation, if required, to help identify which areas need to be addressed
  • fully tailored session based on your needs
  • one school visit of up to four hours (may include meetings and a workshop for up to six participants -  students, teachers, SSOs, parents)
  • post-visit resources

Curriculum Session

Using your existing curriculum or supporting the development of new units, our qualified and experienced classroom teachers will help you identify and plan using a combination of your existing in-school resources, linking to free (and interactive) resources and a selection of Gould League's famous curriculum publications. Areas include environmental education, sustainable living, biodiversity, marine, waste, water and energy.

Assessment and Verification

Ready to be signed-off in the Core, Water, Waste, Biodiversity or Energy Modules? An experienced Gould League assessor will come out to you (metro Melbourne).

Includes:

  • coordinating the Memorandum of Understanding with Sustainability Victoria for verification level access to SETS
  • one school visit of up to three hours

  • Includes all student-led activities, resources, templates and links to free resources and support.

Waste

  • Includes all student-led activities, resources, templates and links to free resources and support.

Energy

  • Includes all student-led activities, resources, templates and links to free resources and support.
