The Sustainables Challenge
Through project management and curriculum development, Gould Group is helping the Department of Sustainability and Environment to build student sustainability leaders.

The Hon John Thwaites, Minister for Sustainability and Environment
launched The Sustainables Challenge pilot program on
Friday February 24, 2006 at Coatesville Primary School in Bentleigh.
What is the Sustainables Challenge?
Hosted by a family of cartoon super-heroes, The Sustainables Challenge builds student leaders to communicate ten simple sustainable actions that they and their families can undertake to make a real difference to our future.
Forty schools from across Victoria, including ten regional schools, are participating in this pilot program that extends the DSE's Victorian initiative, The Sustainables Household Challenge, into schools.
Services provided by Gould Group
Gould Group is providing a full project management service for the Victorian Department of Sustainability and Environment's (DSE) The Sustainables Challenge including:
- Developing and delivering a professional development program
- Marketing the program and recruiting participant schools
- Hosting and coordinating an ongoing online discussion group for participating teachers and partners
- Developing student curriculum materials, integrating The Sustainables Challenge into the Victorian Essential Learning Standards.
- Full event and media management for the project launch by the Hon John Thwaites, Minister for Sustainability and Environment, on Friday February 24, 2006 at Coatesville Primary School in Bentleigh
- Coordinating a performance troupe which will visit every participating school
