Seven schools in metropolitan Melbourne are enjoying the chance to halve their waste and save up to $3000 a year in Gould League’s new EnviroCampus project funded through the Environmental Planning Authority’s Alternative Penalties project.
EnviroCampus is a fully mentored, 12-month school program focusing on waste management. Participating schools, including Carranballac College, Copperfield College, Manorvale Primary School, Sunbury Primary School, The Grange, Yarraville West Primary School and Movelle Primary School, are receiving teacher professional development, student and teacher access to online curriculum, resources, tools and activities, networking with other schools and technical support.
“The schools which have signed up for this program are demonstrating that literacy and numeracy are not the only measures for a successful education, and it is exciting to see them taking some innovative steps to living and educating more sustainably,” said Gould League’s Dr Peter Morgan.
A few EnviroCampus places are still available to schools in Melbourne’s western suburbs. Find out more here, or email us to register your interest |
