a monthly calendar of the major environmental events, which occur around
Australia's coastline during the whole year. The allocation of the events
within each month is only approximate, as the timing of some of them can
be affected by the extent of influences like El Nino and La Nina episodes,
global warming, ozone depletion, cyclonic activity, solar flares and pollution
spills. At present this is using a very broad brush, but the Timelines
Australia Project seeks in the future to refine event location records
into a bio-regional framework. |
